Microneedling & RF Microneedling

Controlled micro-injury that prompts the skin to rebuild — with or without radio frequency.

Fine needles create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. The repair response that follows lays down new collagen over the following weeks. It is one of the more effective approaches to indented scarring, rough texture and visible pores.

Standard microneedling

Needle depth is set by area and by what is being addressed — shallower across the forehead and around the eyes, deeper through the cheeks where scarring usually sits. Topical numbing is applied first and left long enough to actually work.

The response is gradual by design. New collagen takes weeks to organise, so the visible change from a single session is modest and the change across a full course is not.

RF microneedling

The same micro-channels, with radio frequency energy delivered through the needle tips into the deeper layers. That adds a thermal stimulus alongside the mechanical one and reaches tissue that needling alone does not.

It is considered where laxity is part of the picture rather than texture alone, and it is not automatically the better option — deeper is not the same as more suitable.

Recovery

Expect a warm, tight, sunburn-like flush for a day or two, sometimes light flaking on day three. Makeup is generally fine from day two. Sun protection is essential throughout a course.
